Practice doctors


Dr. Brian Murphy MBBS, Dip RACOG 

Dr Brian Murphy graduated from University of Melbourne in 1980.  He has been a partner at Whittlesea Medical Clinic since 1991 and has worked in the local community for many years. 

Dr Murphy was a member of the Board of Management of Plenty Valley Community Health Centre and has been a past Director of Northern Vision of General Practice and coordinated public and men's health.  He has given many public lectures to the Whittlesea community on various medical issues.

Dr Murphy provides all of the medical care for Whittlesea Lodge Nursing Home and Sunlight Aged Care Facility.

Dr Murphy’s medical interests include:
• Men's health
• Respiratory medicine
• Geriatrics


Dr. Sabah Al-Mulla


Dr. Hans Surya MBBS

Dr Hans Surya is a Partner of Whittlesea Medical Clinic and has been with us since 2012.  Dr. Surya is available for consultations on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

His interests include:

  • Paedatrics 

  • General medicine

  • Aged Care

  • Minor procedures.


Dr. Claudia Bosch MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Claudia Bosch completed her medical training at Melbourne University from 1981 to 1986.
Dr Bosch commenced practicing at Whittlesea Medical Clinic in 1997.
Dr Bosch's social interests include horses, books and anything furry.
Dr Bosch enjoys all facets of general medicine

Dr. Anne Porter MBBS
Dr Anne Porter graduated from Melbourne University and has also completed BSs(Hons) in Chemistry, PhD in microwave spectroscopy and radioastronomy at Monash University.
Dr Porter has a keen interest in all things equestrian and is an FEI show jumping judge.
Dr Porter’s medical interests include:
• Wound management
• Women's health
• General Health
• Skin Problems


Dr. Muneer Saka MBChB, AMC, FRACGP

​Dr Muneer Saka completed his medical training in 1991 at the University of Salahaddin/Iraq.

Dr Saka commenced practicing at Whittlesea Medical Clinic in February 2010 and has been a practice partner since 2012.
Dr Saka moved to Australia with his wife and two children in 2000.
Dr Saka's medical interests include:

  • Minor procedures

  • Paediatric medicine

  • Sports medicine

Dr. William Miller MBBS
Dr. Bill Miller completed his medical training at Melbourne University.
Dr Miller commenced practising at Childs Road Medical Clinic in October 1982.  Dr Miller is a practice partner.
Dr Miller's social interests include running, bush walking and travel.

Dr. Sue Bergin

Dr. Sue Bergin MBBS
Dr Sue Bergin graduated in 1983.  She trained at Melbourne University and the Royal Women’s Hospital.  She also completed a diploma of obstetrics and gynaecology and FRACGP.
Dr Bergin is married with two adult children and has practiced a Childs Road Medical Clinic for 30 years.  She is a partner in the practice.
Dr Bergin’s social interests include reading, walking and gym.
Dr Bergin enjoys treating a wide range of medical complaints.

​Dr. David Festa MBBS, FRACGP, dip RACOG
​Dr David Festa was born and raised in the northern suburbs.  He completed his degree at Melbourne University in 1990.
Dr Festa worked throughout Melbourne and spent six months working in Warrnambool before settling with Whittlesea and Childs Road Medical Clinics.  Dr Festa is a practice partner.
Dr Festa completed a diploma of Obstetrics through PANCH in 1994.
Dr Festa is multilingual in Italian, Parlo and English.

Dr. Melissa Garbutt


Dr Garbutt has been a General Practitioner at Whittlesea Medical Clinic since 2006. 

Dr Garbutt's current professional roles include providing health care to young people at Whittlesea Secondary College in the Doctors in Secondary Schools Program as well as being Supervisor of Registrars undertaking their GP training at Whittlesea and Childs Road Medical Clinics.

Dr Garbutt is passionate about delivering compassionate, holistic care to her patients with a focus on preventive health to minimise chronic disease. 


Her clinical interests include:

  • Women's health

  • Subfertility including IVF medicine

  • Preventative disease managment

  • Chronic disease management

  • Child and adolescent health

Melissa has two young children and outside of work, enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and playing tennis for her local club.

Mrs. Anne Greer

Dr. Marita Long

MBBS(Hons) B.Med Sci., FRACGP, DCH, Cert S and RH

Dr. Long is commencing at Whittlesea Clinic in January 2019 and will be working on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday


Dr. Long has worked in a diverse range of general practice settings in Tasmania and has a strong interest in women's health and has highly developed skills in all sexual and reproductive health matters.  She is also qualified to insert implanons and IUDs.

Dr Long also enjoys working in the area of children's health and also has a strong commitment to providing a high level of primary health care across all the ages and stages of life.

​Ms. Deanne Van der Drift BBus MCom(PA) FIPA

Deanne joined the team in August 2018, relocating from Cohuna Victoria.  Deanne is a qualified accountant with extensive HR, administration and management experience.


In addition to her role at Whittlesea Medical Clinic, Deanne  assists in delivering public health care to the Victorian community as a Board Member at Cohuna District Hospital.


Deanne also provides services to local government by Chairing the Gannawarra Shire Audit Committee, a position she has held for the past several years.
