Whittlesea Medical Clinic
About Us

The Whittlesea Medical Clinic was first opened in 1972 and has served the community of Whittlesea since that time.
We are in the fortunate position of being in a farming/suburban community which has seen many changes over the years.

In recent times the dynamics of the practice has changed with a lot of new families moving into the area and new housing estates being built in the district.
The clinic is very involved in local activities, particularly with the two nursing homes in the town.

During the 2009 Black Saturday Bushfire time we suffered many losses – staff and patients – including loss of property to some of our staff. We worked through this disaster with local and state authorities. Sadly, also in 2009 we lost Dr. John Colbert who was a longstanding partner of the practice and a dear friend to all.
On 9th of May 2011, we moved into our new premises.

We are moving forward to care for the community and our district which is growing around us at a phenomenal rate.
New housings estates are surrounding us, and our patient profile is constantly changing. We are enjoying the challenge this diversity brings to us every day.

Many of our doctors have been with the practice for many years and have a long-standing relationship with many of our patients.

Our practice provides comprehensive general practice care and has special interests including general health, emergency health, public health, geriatrics, minor procedures, pediatric medicine, mental health, skin surgery, family medicine.
